The Wolfman (2010)

The Wolfman will be released in theaters February 12th.

Set in the late 1880s, the film keeps the plotline of the original, with Lawrence Talbot (Benicio del Toro) reuniting with his estranged father (Anthony Hopkins) following the disappearance of his brother. The film details events during Lawrence's past that led to his conflict with his father; and the setting is changed from the mythical Welsh village of Llanwelly to the English village of Blackmore and the city of London. The official synopsis states Talbot was traumatized by his mother's death as a child, while Gwen Conliffe (Emily Blunt) is his brother's fiancée. Following his brother's disappearance, Talbot hunts a murderer, which turns out to be a werewolf, and the curse is passed on.

Friday Night Frights: Dog Soldiers (2002)

Six soldiers. Full moon. No chance.

Welcome to tonight's episode of Friday Night Frights.

Tonight's feature is a great "man movie" (as opposed to a "chick flick")! Soldiers and werewolves! Crack open a beer and enjoy!

Dog Soldiers was written and directed by Neil Marshall; the cast includes Sean Pertwee, Kevin McKidd, Emma Cleasby, and Liam Cunningham.

A routine military exercise turns into a nightmare in the Scotland wilderness.

Sharp Teeth

Sharp Teeth, by Toby Barlow, is a story of werewolves told in verse that is hard to put down once you've started reading.

From Publishers Weekly (starred review):

"Barlow's gut-wrenching, sexy debut, a horror thriller in verse, follows three packs of feral dogs in East L.A. These creatures are in fact werewolves, men and women who can change into canine form at will (Dog or wolf? More like one than the other/ but neither exactly). Lark, the top dog in one of the packs who's a lawyer in human form, has a master plan that may involve taking over the city from the regular humans. Anthony Silvo, a dogcatcher and normally a loner, finds himself falling in love with a beautiful and mysterious woman (Standing on four legs in her fur,/ she is her own brand of beast).
